This is a raw sound from the deep north, straight out of the Mareeba Delta, all steamy and bouncing off the remnants of extinct volcanoes, booming through the canefields. 8 Ball rolls into your personal soundtrack, packing wild wet tropics cowboy songs from the roadside, original roots music with balls.

8 Ball Aitken has been nominated for the Australian APRA Blues & Roots Song of the Year 2009 for his hit song 'COWBOY MOVIE'.
8 Ball Wins EMI Q Song Award
8 Ball's song 'Yellow Moon' has recently won the 2008 Qsong EMI Blues & Roots Song of the Year Award. 'YELLOW MOON' has been released on 'Sounds Like Cafe Volume 24'.
8 Ball wins 'Southern Star' Award
8 Ball was a finalist for two Southern Stars Awards at the 2008 Australian Independent Country Music Awards in Mildura.
He ended up being a runner up for 'Album of the Year Award' but he took home the 'Male Rising Star Award'.
On Tour
8 Ball Aitken completed his frst World Tour in June / July 2008. He played festivals and clubs across Singapore, UK, Poland, Finland and his fourth tour of Japan.
